Match Report
A free flowing offence set the tone for the Seniors game this weekend, with windy conditions and a bit of a light rain the Renegades came out pumped and ready to call the shots against Mazenod OC. Two goals in the first quarter put Brunswick on the board with a thrilling first goal by Fern Speechly. Late in the first quarter captain Claire Woodhouse got a nasty head knock that required stitches to the inside of her mouth. The other casualty of the knocking of heads Tahlia Hayes played on with tenacity, a marvelous pick up of the footy turned the play around. The premiers team showed consistency and a solid game was had by all players. Mazenod OC had plenty of leg speed across ground in the third quarter and applied enough pressure to keep Brunswick scoreless. But Kate Mad Dog Sullivan came out firing and answered to that in the fourth playing an outstanding game and taking the reins from Woodhouse in the midfield. Boosting the intensity and going hard at the ball the Renegades finished the game with a great win.
