Match Report
The sunshine came out for game two, giving the Seniors a little time to defrost on field. The first quarter saw the Renegades winning the ball and clearances allowing for an early lead on the scoreboard. The forward line crumbers were on the ball and Amy D slotted three goals overall in majestic style. A captain’s goal from House got the team up and about, as well as the old one two between House and Goose resulting in a goal to Amy D who was instrumental as full forward. Kelly Dungate created a goal opportunity with a spectacular mark just outside the forward 50. Tahlia Qantas Hayes soared from above and converted. Yvette’s heroic effort to return to the field after a busted lip and dislocated finger, shows true Renegade spirit (having the paramedic as the runner is very handy) The ever brave and skillful backline held their own against a quick and accurate St Mary’s. Word on the street is we will focus on tightening up on our opposition over the remaining rounds to not allow as much space. Regardless of the scores the Renegades traded in their boots and shorts for fancy outfits that dazzled at the one club ball on Saturday night. We now have a well-deserved bye, and look forward to the one club training on Thursday night.
