Match Report
There wasn’t a cloud in the sky as the Prems hit the field in perfect conditions but it still managed to rain – rain goals that is!
With Palombi being a late withdrawal due to a back injury Mon took the reins in the ruck and took control in the air and on the ground.
The forwards had a great start, “Sticky” Dougherty was taking grabs like her hands were made of velcro and Grace was unstoppable. We went into the first break after putting 5 goals on the board.
The backline and mids were repelling every attack by the Bulls, Snowy was sweeping up each attempt and sending it straight back to our forwards.
At half time Coach Hennessy set a target of a score of 110 to challenge the team. The players responded with gusto. Small forwards Amy and Caitlin showed their strength with 7 goals between them.
With the Renos building a wall with their mids and another with their backs the ball never had a chance to get to the other end. Time would slow down when Andie dodged and weaved through opposition whilst Skates McClue just charged straight through them.
It was a great day for footy with an opposition that was very accommodating, inviting us back for a bevvy and slab raffle in the rooms after. The next ‘Battle of Brunswick’ is round 11 when we look forward to facing them at home.
