Match Report
As the sun slowly set the Prems took the sloping field for the battle of finishing 1st. Dull lights made it hard for the coaches to see the other side of the ground, Coach Hennessy forgot her glasses, often needing the entire bench to assist with knowing who had kicked the ball!
Mirroring the earlier reserves match, solid hard football was the style of the game. The hard tackling and crunching bumps had the crowd cheering loudly.
Goodsey and Eliza jumped on the bench after playing a hard fought Ressies match to help our numbers and were instrumental throughout the game.
From the get go JosiĆ© was mopping up across half back and rebounding time after time. Gem’s awesome goal got us back in the game and had everyone on their feet!
Flick was dominant down back whilst Mad Dog Watson managed to snag a quick kick out of a pack that sailed through the sticks, it took the bench 5 minutes to figure out who kicked it as they couldn’t see a thing!
Skates McClue played an absolute blinder in and under packs and getting great clearances with some booming drop punts.
We were winning for 3 quarters but the quick hands from Yarra in the 4th were hard to stop. A couple of quick sausage rolls got them in front and gave them the bragging rights as minor premiers.
Looking forward to playing Yarra next week with the winner progressing to the Grand Final.
