Match Report
The Prems ran out onto a heavy, chopped up ground ready for a tough, physical game in what could very well be a finals preview.
The wind that had hampered the Ressie’s game died down to a gentle breeze as the ball was bounced and its was soon apparent that our rucks would have their work cut out for them.
Clarky continued their sensational form in the midfield with another cracking performance of footy whilst Pia continued to repel each forward advance by the Bloods.
At half time with only a goal in it, Coach Hennessy made the decision not to make the long trek back to the room and to stay out on the field. This seemed to be a winning idea as the team went into the second half much more upbeat than their opponents.
Woodhouse was winning clearances and sending the ball into the (very short) 50 time after time giving fowards like Bella opportunities for shots on goal.
By 3/4 time the wind had picked up again and with it came rain so cold it was hard to believe it wasn’t hail. With only 2 points in it the Renos had to lift. Flicka’s dominance in the forward line was a turning point, feeding the ball in as well as scoring goals.
When the final siren sounded the wind stopped and the sun came out for the exhausted Renegades to sing their song on the field after an 8 point win.
