Match Report
The Renegades came prepared for tough playing conditions on Saturday with wet weather forecasted, but the clouds parted way for a double victory at the Gillon!
The game was set up in the first quarter for the Reserves, running with the wind, kicking a super efficient 3.3 from six inside fifties entries and ten tackles. The team played their usual style of effective teamwork – particularly in the forward line who kept the field open with great leads and grabs from Vanessa, Lucy and Erin supported by pressure from Rachel, Killer and Goodsey.
The ruck and midfield won most of the day and back line was solid keeping them to only two goals for the game, both when they were running with a huge wind. Grace Kendall took out play of the day with a great pick up, step, don’t argue handball and shepherd to set up Killer with a long range goal.
Scoring 12 from 13 set shots the team can work away boasting 92% scoring efficiency. The odds are definitely in their favour with a final score 47 to 24.
