The Reserves hit the grass early with the frost still melting as the game got under way. The last time these two teams met the score was a loss at 179 – 0. Old Geelong Reserves have been beating sides by an average of 97 points so far this season. The Renegades had other ideas. They played defensively and applied heavy pressure to hold them to their smallest win of the year, 35 – 0.

It was a great team effort from all players but the stand outs were Jess Price, Josie, Jane, Eliza and play of the day winner Sarah whose efforts were heroic all day. The Renegades played their brand of football that included tackling and pressure across the field making it feel more like a finals match than round 8.
