Match Report

5 Best

  1. NOBS joining La Trobe as the only undefeated sides after round 2 after piling on 19 goals (22 behinds…ah hem) and pumping Dragons by 102 points
  2. Our next opponent, Kew FC (who we play on Saturday 26 April) managing just 9 points against the La Trobe boys at the weekend
  3. Hamish ‘Coleman’ Christie announcing that he is available for selection for round 4 and round 5. Coach Dave ‘Hard Truths’ Treppo faces a selection dilemma with 3 NOBS Clubmen featuring in the top 5 goal kickers. #surelythereisroomforthebigfella
  4. Todd ‘Lucky 7’ McLeod kicking six goals and seven behinds in a dominant display of goal sneaking, Jimmy Bartel style. You have to feel for the bloke, must be a lot of pent up poison. Gonna be a deluge if / when he kicks that elusive bag of 7 tricks
  5. The creation of two new ‘chat rooms’ on Team App including one for official complaints, of which there are bound to be many

5 Worst

  1. Anthony ‘Po Lift Tackle Newcastle Knights Alex McKinnon’ Hipsley getting carried away with celebration preparations en route to his maiden AFL major. My word the kid is showing some promise though #israelfolaueatyourheartout #thankyouphilmoore
  2. Some blokes not knowing the NOBS club song. Seeming as we’ll be singing it a fair bit this year, do your homework lads. Second half is based on the Kangaroos’ song. First bit is ace.

[lots of nondescript yelling and thumping on stuff]

Out we come, out we come, out we come to play [hey]

  3. Tony ‘John Snow’ Pick’s abortive attempt to bounce the ball in our defensive 10 metre square only to give Daniel ‘Crackers the Angry Croat’ Kratochvil a hospital handball and eventually concede a rushed behind
  4. Tim ‘Father of the Year + ANU Mafioso Don’ Mayfield copping a knee in the echidna from the only big bloke in their team. Backing into packs is a thankless task. Lest we forget. Last post.
  5. It being so hard to whittle down the list to the 6 best on ground for the day. Ben ‘Tom Who?’ O’Halloran very stiff, in my opinion #johnywarnedmenottocallhimTyrionLannister
