Match Report
It was the toughest of days to begin the season for Brunswick NOBSPC at Keysborough on Saturday against a vastly improved Old Mentonians side.
A horror opening 10 minutes saw the stuffing knocked out in first quarter as the Panthers played inspired football. To the credit of our players the next quarter-and-a-half were played on even terms before another avalanche of majors to the home team.
It must be said that the Panthers were very good and our team was depleted compared even to the one which played in the practice match against Therry Penola the week before. There were some good pieces of play put together but constant turnovers killed us.
Positives included a strong showing from new playing assistant coach Kyle Docherty and a usual gutsy effort from Dean Beaumont. Danny King and Peter Carter also battled hard.
Next week at Ballarat will be different proposition as we will regain players and look to maintain our perfect record at the school.
