Match Report
The story of this match was written in the first quarter as NOBSPC played some brilliant footy to score 12.3 to 1.3. Matt Chapman was on fire with 5 goals and a hand in a couple of others as we put on a clinic. Shepherd dominated the ruck and the midfield led by Adam Oakley feasted.
The second quarter started in the same way and it looked like club records could be broken, but then the run and the scoring dried up and it was a full 2 quarters between our 15th and 16th goals. When that can happen it makes you wonder who would be a coach?
Yarra Valley did begin to work harder and make us more accountable but the truth is we switched off believing the job had been done. Against the top sides that will be fatal. We still managed to come away with a good win but it must be viewed as an opportunity lost to bank a really big percentage booster.
We return to Gillon Oval to meet a rejuvenated Bulleen Templestowe on Saturday and we look forward to a full four quarter effort as the race for second to fourth spots on the ladder heats up.
