Match Report
It was a beautiful day for footy, and the Renegades were in high spirits running out onto Gillon for a home game match. Maddie Lakos showed why they were leadership material, directing traffic and ensuring players were well-positioned in defence. Pub footy recruit Han showed what they lack in height they make up for in power on the field, chasing down players and moving the ball through the midfield.
The Ivanhoe forward line had their work cut out for them, with formidable backline defence from Evie spoiling on the goal line and never taking no for an answer with her second efforts. Co-captain Schmitty continued to keep the goal attempts at bay with some spectacular marks on the goal line. We’ve said it once, we’ve said it a thousand times – the Renegades tackling is second to none in the league, with Lizzo and Butterly showing no mercy with their tackles. While we didn’t walk away with a win, the Reserves held their head high with a well-fought game.
