Match Report
What a difference a week makes! Brunswick NOBSPC travelled to Preston with some trepidation after recent losses but rebounded in the best possible way with a 10-goal trouncing of the Bullants.
We took advantage of the strong northerly blowing straight down the ground in the first quarter and completely dominated with 5.5 to 0.0, then managed to hold Preston to 2.6 when it was their turn, and most importantly used that half-time lead as a springboard for a “premiership” third term of 6.5 to 1.4 to blow the game apart.
There was some icing on the cake to follow in the final quarter as we made it a 61-point win to help with our percentage.
It was a tour-de-force for the Chrises, Horsley and Ford, with eight goals between them as they continued to lead the way for the club this season. The improving Matt Dickson and ever-reliable Geremie Ganino were excellent in the midfield, while Jayden Tilbrook returned from a lengthy injury-induced absence like he had never been out. Danny King was also good again.
That win keeps us a game clear of 9th and relegation, with a run home of St Mary’s (2nd on the ladder) at home, Ormond (3rd) away, Whitefriars (10th) away, Therry (7th) at home and St John’s (9th) away. We therefore hold our destiny in our own hands. Get down to support the boys as they aim to keep winning!
