Match Report
Brunswick NOBSPC supporters following our scores against old foe Ormond must have got an awful shock on Saturday. They would have thought something has gone amiss here and they would have been right, four times over in fact.
We will never be ones for excuses but the harsh reality is that on Thursday night we lost three of our gun midfielders in captain Lachlan Ezard, former B&F Adam Oakley and the classy Damon Byrne to injury. Then another star in Todd Cleary broke his collarbone in the opening minutes of the game. In short, the buoyant team of seven days prior had had the stuffing knocked out of them and as hard as they tried, couldn’t overcome those losses.
So it proved to be a hard day at the office playing a very good side in Ormond. Please forgive the absence a match summary. Suffice to say the focus is squarely on a massive game against Therry next Saturday when both teams will be desperate to get a win.
Mention does need to be made of an excellent game by Chris Horsley, whose return to footy this year continues to build, while Scott Thomas was again indefatigable in the ruck. Tim Weaver was also a strong contributor.
Get down to Therry this week to offer your support to the boys!
