Match Report
With a scoreline more akin to a soccer game of one goal to nil, Brunswick Renegades recorded a crucial fourth win of the season at Gillon Oval against Old Trinity, providing a real chance of avoiding relegation from Women’s Premier division.
The northerly blowing across the ground played havoc with the skills of all players on the ground, but it was Emily Taylor who kicked what would prove to be the winning goal in the first quarter.
Such were the conditions that a frank post-game appraisal by one of the Renegades was that the real opponent on the day was the wind and the wind won! But we got the crucial four points to keep our season alive coming into the final round this weekend.
We play the bottom side, Melbourne Uni, at McAlister Oval on Sunday at 2pm and will be hoping that Old Trinity do the right thing by us on Saturday by defeating Old Xavs who sit one game clear at the moment.
We would love a big crowd to get down to cheer on the girls this Sunday!
