Match Report
Brunswick Renegades completed a strong finish to their season with a convincing victory over Melbourne Uni at McAlister Oval on Sunday.
In fact, a fifth win secured sixth place on the Women’s Premier ladder. After some tough patches during the season it was tremendous to win the last two games (and only be a point away from making it three).
While the victory was set up by a dominant first-half of four goals to nil, Melb Uni came at the Renegades so hard in the third quarter there were plenty of nerves in the camp until late in the game when the sealing goal was kicked.
The brilliant thing about this season has been the huge number of new players that have arrived at the club and the improvement they have shown. With another pre-season under their belts, those girls are going to be a real force in years to come as their skills and game awareness continue to develop.
Coach Dan Marshall has also had a massive impact on the playing group, who were warm and glowing in their appreciation of his hard work post-match.
Well done girls, you can be proud of your efforts in the inaugural VAFA Women’s Premier competition this year.
