Ivanhoe Park isn't a small field, so having to run out there with only 12 aside to ensure a fair game against the low numbered opposition was always going to hurt. With six new Renos playing their first game, 50% of the team were going in blind, but you couldn't tell that from the sidelines.

Now, THIS was a game of footy. Another grueling 15-a-side request from Parkdale, who were falling short. This meant covering a notoriously wide field with fewer players. There were early signs of glory in the first quarter with a big first goal from newcomer Kiah, who quickly secured a spot in the forward line with a stunning performance this week.

The soy lattes barely had time to settle in the stomach this week with a 9.30am bounce. It is heart-warming to see Reno's getting more and more spectators coming along to watch the games. I don't care how old you are; there is nothing like looking over and seeing your family waving at you from the grandstand. A big welcome to our new families joining the Renegade brigade and getting all merched up.

It was another painful defeat, but the Renegades still had plenty to be happy about, hosting their annual club fundraiser Saturday night. This was a slight twist on the usual Trivia Night, this time around, we tried our hand at BINGO, and I think it's fair to say it was a very successful evening.

This week the Ressies played out of their sopping wet skin in what the coach Geck declared "the best game of footy they have played so far". The Ressies ran out with a 17 a side team and one on the bench with numbers down. Under the leadership of Maddie, who leads by example, giving it their absolute week in and week out, we got to see some great footy.

With both Captain and Vice-Captain out, Big D (Amy D) stepped up to the plate to lead the team. Amy has more than 50 games under her belt and brings great wisdom and a sense of calm to the nervous players. That leadership was brought straight onto the field as she set up the team and led from the back.

After a week off, the Ressies were rearing to go with fresh legs. The team were proud to finally wear their Indigenous jerseys out on Wurrundjeri Woi Wurrung country this season. We are proud to learn the history of the traditional custodians of the land on which we play footy and their contributions to our great game of Australian Rules.
