Max Results Senior Men Preseason Program

Preparation for season 2019 is well underway. Our coach Anthony Palmer and Coterie member and Gym owner Matt Roberts have put together a fitness program that will have a major influence on our performance next year.

We have 30 players committed already to the program which has been very much a rarity at this club in the past. It is worth noting that this has been mostly player driven which is very pleasing.

Matt has kindly given the club this intense A grade fitness program at a very generous reduced rate. The players are contributing part of the cost and the club the rest.

Anthony Palmer Senior Men’s Coach says,

“This program will be the envy of all VAFA clubs, including those at a higher level. It is important to note, that all sessions available to the players, 13 per week in total, of which the completion of 4 is the expectation, will be supervised by highly qualified professionals. All players will work their way through the program from start to finish, with all levels completed and recorded for our and the players records. i.e. if you don’t start until week 3, you will start the program at the start and work your way through the levels. I have attached an overview of the program that shows it’s progressive nature. I have also listed the fitness professionals assisting below.”

The program will help us achieve the following:

  • buy in from the playing group around preseason and the upcoming season (we have 30 players currently signed up to the program starting Saturday 6th October with a presentation from the NMFC Dietician, followed by their first session). I would suggest this is an unprecedented level of commitment for this time of year.
  • a group of mostly core senior players becoming fitter and stronger than they have ever been before, giving us the best opportunity to start the season strongly which we know drives enthusiasm across the whole club
  • providing an environment and culture that we believe will attract potential recruits to our club (2 new recruits are already committed – discussions underway with others.)
  • self-belief, confidence and a strong enthusiasm for the coming year
  • shows a strong commitment from the club that we are dedicated to providing our players with every opportunity to develop within a professional environment and shows we are serious about success and climbing the grades.

“Most pleasing from my perspective is seeing this young playing group starting to take personal responsibility and setting high standards amongst themselves. Exciting times ahead”

– Matt Roberts – Max Results.
