At the annual VAFA conference held on Saturday, it was announced that the Brunswick Renegades would be one of the inaugural Premier Women’s teams, alongside other established teams Fitzroy-ACU, AJAX and SKOB Saints. They will be joined in the top division by four more teams following three weeks of grading games.

The VAFA expect there will be 40 teams in the women’s competition in its first year, which is incredible considering that when planning commenced the expectation was for 12-16 teams.

We will be fielding two teams so our seconds will be part of the 36 Development teams to be graded, following which there will be five divisions of eight teams who will all play 14 home and away rounds, with finals to be held between 5-19 August.

The Club is extremely excited to be in Premier and can’t wait to see our women’s teams running around in the Amateurs.

Coaches of our women’s Premier and Development teams will be announced soon.
