NOBSPC Confidential has obtained the report cards on some of the players that were provided to on Ladies Day. It was to help the girls target which player to ask to buy them a drink as part of their day.

Below is Part I of the run-down;

  • Brendan Sheehan
Attorney at law who also works part time as the Minister of Defence in the NOBSPC backline each Saturday.
One for the premium buyers, a drink off Brendan not only guarantees the aforementioned drink of your choice, but also the value-add benefit of several minutes of humorous conversation and anecdotes.
  • Nick Evans
The baby faced new recruit who has the female tongues (and Rushy’s for that matter) wagging.
A word of caution that when working well this investment banker is hell bent on delivering value to his clients; hence he will turn your initial drink into many.
  • David Crook(s)
Tats and all, he is the closest thing to Ben Cousins that you will find at the Gillon. The grin, the confidence, the stickers. Unfortunately it is too good to be true, as one drink is all you will get as he will quickly scurry home to care for his beloved baby boy.
  • Tom O’Halloran
AKA ‘Tips’. Renowned child actor who famously appeared in a Milky Bar commercial, but this boy next door has since shunned the limelight. His early season football has shown his hands to be very good on the field. Rumour has it that this fourth year physio students hands are even better off it.
  • Dan Tonkin(s)
This club great is believed to hold the record for the highest ever ladies day bid of $117 in 2004, and the lucky bidder declared him the ‘best thing she ever bid on’. And yes ladies, the dazzling side steps and shimmies he’s famous for on the football field translate onto the dance floor. Keep your purses shut at your own detriment.
  • Simon Harwood
The silky-smooth Marlboro man who possesses a perfect blend of city style to go with his old fashioned country manners. Tall, dark, handsome & intelligent – the ideal trophy husband but with the added bonus of brains. Pre event phone bids have this power forward as an early favourite for most expensive NOBSPC.
  • Scott Sleep
His silver hair complimented by a silver tongue, a drink with Scott with will be anything but Sleepy. A regular popular pick on Ladies Day due to his George Clooney like features, expect this club great to be hot property.
  • Chris Ford
One for the budget conscious. Chris possesses neither great looks, great football ability or great charm. However he is a nice guy and will most likely put up the money for a basic spirit or wine.
  • Adam Crameri
Rumoured to be as quick on the dance floor as he is on the football field. Adam is one of a dying breed (outside of this club) of genuinely nice guys. Adam is also a bit of a fashionista and is known as the best dressed man at the club. He ticks all the boxes in your ideal man.
  • Matt Keown
The big man in Brunswick, in his first season at the club in 2008 he was unofficially declared best body in the amateurs. Despite Nic Barden’s return, looks likely to retain that title in 2009. Has the rig and parties hard. This playing coach is sure to be another for the high rollers.
  • Mick Carney
Wether it be in the NOBSPC backline or at a bar, this phsyiotherapist will always choose the punch as his preferred option. Famous for his affectionate side which sees him hug (read headlock) those close to him after a few beverages. Also possesses one of the finest jaws in the eastern states and is rumoured to have been the inspiration for the Bonds man.
  • Chris Hosking(s)
An superannuation guru by day who moonlights as a country/western star by night, Chris is the heroic captain of the club with a haircut you could set your watch to. Sure he’s lost those popular sideburns and the 72 shirt has been out of action for far too long, but he’s still got the moves. Always very popular with the ladies so expect him to be snapped up early.
  • Brendan Wills
The ruggedly good looking recruit who is also the front man for his own rock band was recently a very popular contestant on the hit TV show “Taken Out”. Ladies you would be very silly to not leave your lights on for this hot COB. And being seen with Willsy will almost certainly see you get your pic in the Herald-Sun social pages. THE complete package.
