Guest Speaker: Mark Balla
We Can’t Wait

A trip to India in 2014 and a tour through the Mumbai slums and it became evident there were no girls at school. The question was asked why? The answer no toilets! So, girls in India drop out of school at puberty, which reinforces the stereotype of girls being dumb and misogynistic attitudes continuing throughout the community.

On his return, Mark met with friends and started We Can’t Wait a “Not for Profit“ charity. Since its humble beginnings in 2014, WCW has raised $81,000. Funding of $57,000 has been delivered directly to school sanitation projects in India and through grant programs (Rotary International). This in turn has facilitated the expenditure of $450,000 and has directly benefited 22,500 school children.

This talk will certainly be of interest to the “mothers” of both senior and junior clubs. Tickets are $40 each for a delicious spread of food with complimentary drinks on arrival and throughout the afternoon till 2.15pm.
