Thank You Tom Hunter!
After four fantastic seasons at the helm of the Brunswick Football Club, our senior coach Tom Hunter has decided to step down. Following a challenging start in Division 1, Tommy has led our senior men’s team to a first semi-final in 2022, a preliminary final in 2023 and a grand final in 2024 in Division 2. While unfortunately premiership success eluded our senior team, promotion back to Division 1 was secured this year, marking a very successful period in the club’s history.
Tommy has played a pivotal role in the growth of our squads, which has captured two reserves flags during this time (led by Ben Daly). Our players, coaches and volunteers have all grown and learnt a lot from Tommy during his tenure, on and off the field. His ability to provide in-depth insights during training and match day as well as guiding the club through challenges and triumphs off the field has been invaluable.
We thank Tommy and his wife Dani for the time and effort he has provided over the last four years and wish them well for their future endeavors in starting a family. He leaves the players and the club in a strong position for 2025 and the future. Thank you Tom!
Presentation Day
On Saturday 21 September our end-of-season Presentation Day returned home to Gillon Oval after a number of years of playing away and it drew a record attendance with a great afternoon enjoyed by all as we celebrated our best and fairest winners and other award winners.
It was also an opportunity to send off our much-loved senior men’s coach Tom Hunter in style, as he and Dani embark on the next chapter of their lives as new parents down the coast. Once again, a massive thanks to Tommy for all of his dedicated and passionate work for our club and all the best for the future!
