Current, returning and future players, welcome to season 2016! It’s great to back at the club that I have such fond memories of as a player (only twenty years ago). I’m very excited about getting stuck into the year and working on the things we need to improve on to enjoy success.

We all need to raise the bar and challenge one another in the way we train, the way we prepare and the way we recover. If we can progress in those three key areas, the results on match day will look after themselves. It is important that we have as many people at training to ensure that we can get the most out of each session not only as individuals but as a group.

We only have ten sessions before Christmas, commencing on 23 November at Clifton Oval, so mark them down in your diaries and get to each one to put yourself in a good position before we hit the Christmas break.

  • Week 1
    Mon 23 Nov @ 6.15pm
    Wed 25 Nov @ 6.15pm

Training will then re-commence on Monday 18 January.

Practice matches are being locked in for 19 March (most likely in Ballarat) and 2 April vs. Therry Penola at home before we kick off on 9 April for our 2016 assault on D1.

The recruiting committee has been in full swing since the season finished, with Todd Patterson working the phones. If you have any mates that are interested in playing with us, please let Todd or me know.

It’s been great to meet a few players over the past month and I can tell that there is a real commitment, drive and enthusiasm to improve on the 2015 season. I look forward to meeting the rest of you on 23 November.

Regards
