This week’s player profile is a literal giant on the field and has the biggest grin at the Renegades.

Milly Phipps plays anywhere on the ground, though due to her height gets a fair run in the ruck. Joining us last year, Milly quickly impressed coaches and terrified the oppo with her physicality and hustle, being selected in the wider Big V squad in her first year and dominating in the best and fairest votes.

It’s somewhat unsurprising then that according to my sources Milly absolutely dominates on the netball court. You would not want to come up against her as a GD. She’s a rare species, as this cross coder also supports North Melbourne – one of their 5 supporters.

Nickname: Milly, but open to anything new

Hometown: A tiny suburb called Gardenvale

AFL Team supported: North Melbourne

Greatest sporting achievement: Getting through my first season with the Renegades without any major injuries.

Pre-game ritual/Superstitions: I fear getting hungry in the middle of a game, so I have to eat a lot beforehand.

If we were to compare you to any footballer/athlete, who would it be? I aspire to be compared to any of the players currently in the AFLW.

What should we expect from you on match day? Running out of breath from shouting so much through my mouth guard.

Who is the greatest AFL player of all time, and why? I think that Erin Phillips will prove to be the best of all time in the next few years. I’m excited to see what more she can do!

Milly Phipps

The Renegades Ruck Woman – Gardenvale’s Milly Phipps has had a strong season.
