Brunswick Football Club acknowledges the great performance of our U19 Captain Oscar Watt in winning the VAFA U19 Div 4 Best & Fairest by 12 votes. Oscar polled 24 votes in 12 games, missing the last 5 rounds (+ a bye round) with badly-sprained ankle ligaments. The second and third place runners-up each polled 12 votes.

This injury occurred early in the first quarter in the return match against PEGS on August 5th. Oscar returned underdone to the team for the finals along with a number of other wounded players to give their all for the team.

Voted as Team Captain by his teammates, Oscar not only performed to a high level on the field but regularly addressed the players both in-game and assisted the coaches at training. Having come up through the Junior Club where he joined in the U13s Oscar was again voted Captain (by the players) of the 2021 Colts team. That season he also won the Yarra Junior Football League competition B&F for his Colts division.

We look forward to watching Oscar perform in the senior teams where players like him and so many talented Brunswick Juniors coming through will push the senior club back up the grades.

Well done Oscar, your teammates, coaches and all at BFC & BJFC are very proud of your efforts.

Congratulations also go to Freddy Sinn on finishing 8th in the Comp on 10 votes only 2 votes off 2nd.

Freddy was instrumental in holding up the backline as Centre Half Back and regularly went into the ruck when required.
