Match Report
The Ressie Bushrangers and Renegades entered the final round of the home and away season with a finals spot up for grabs for the victor.
The Renos started perfectly with a wonderful goal to Em T off the back of quick play from half back. Yarra tightened the game up and from then on it was a physical tussle with each team creating good opportunities to score when clearing from the stoppages.
Eliza was again playing a ripper, characterised by trademark strength in the air and in and under. Goodsey, Loz and the midfield group held their own all day around the contest, while Amy was one of the Reno’s best afield playing off half back and the wing.
While the Reno’s were able to hold good territory in the forward zone, the Yarra defense held up well and moved the ball long and quick which resulted in a couple of quick goals. In the end, the Reno’s couldn’t quite get over the line. Well done to Yarra for playing a great game and all the best for the finals.
The Ressies played with characteristic respect and determination right until the end and should be immensely proud of their efforts throughout the whole season.
Time to ice those bruises, get around the Prems and then look forward to season 2020.
