If the Federal Labor Government is re-elected on May the 3rd, it has been promised that Gillon Oval will be beneficiary of $3.325m in funding to restore the heritage A.R. Glenn Grandstand and pay for other improvements, including upgrading the lighting to game standard.

The funding promise was announced on Saturday during halftime of the men’s reserves between Brunswick and Oakleigh by the local member for Wills, Peter Kahlil, and the Deputy Prime Minister, Richard Marles.

The announcement is the culmination of discussions over a number of years between Mr. Kahlil and the Brunswick Community Sports Club (BCSC). All member clubs of the BCSC – Brunswick FC, Brunswick JFC, Brunswick Cricket Club and Brunswick Netball Club – stand to benefit if Labor win the Federal election.
