BJFC Director of Coaching

The Brunswick Junior Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Luke O’Connell as the new Director of Coaching for season 2018. Luke will replace Trevor Ludeman. Luke comes to the Club with a strong background in VAFA football as a coach, being involved with University Blacks (U19 Coach 2009-2010 and Senior Assistant Coach) and progression onto Reserves & Senior assistant throughout 2011-2012.

In 2013-2014 Luke was U18 Assistant & U16 Transition Coach with Eastern Ranges at the TAC cup level and then returning to University Blacks in 2015 as Senior Coach. Luke at present manages the V Squad Junior Football Development Academy for the AFL. The V Squad program revolves around coaching development workshops, club development programs, interleague development programs in addition to the Peter Daicos Academy at Collingwood. Luke expertise and experience will enable the Junior Club to further improve coaching methods and provide valuable experience and mentoring to the junior clubs 32 coaches.

U19 Coaches for season 2018

Trevor Ludeman has been appointed as Brunswick NOBSPC U19 Coach for season 2018 with Ross Coverdale also returning as Assistant Coach for this team. Both men having coached the Dragons throughout their junior years with seven consecutive finals series (2011-2017) for three (3) grand finals and two (2) premierships. It will be 10 years since the senior Club has had an U19 team and the foundations have been laid with the Colts players graduating from senior to junior football in 2018. Recruiting for this team has already commenced!
